Drosera spatulata is native to Australia, New Zealand, and parts of the Far East, forming compact rosettes about 3.5 cm across. In early summer, it produces erect scapes up to 8 cm tall, bearing one-sided racemose inflorescences with around six delicate white or pink flowers, each up to 6 mm across. It produces these flowers that yield abundant seeds, facilitating easy germination. This species thrives in unheated or frost-free greenhouses and is known for its ease of cultivation, making it a practical choice for carnivorous plant collectors seeking a resilient and adaptable specimen.

This species’ compact size and distinctive floral display make it a fascinating subject for carnivorous plant enthusiasts and specialists. Sent out in 7cm square pots they will be established in the pots for at least a season before being sent out. Mostly moving forward they will be repotted in co coir and perlite, rather than Peat for ecological reasons. They have been grown outside, only having fleece for protection during the harshest frosts over the last few years, with the aim to produce hardier plants for our customers.
